Terms of service & refund policy
Plain-language terms governing checkout, software licenses and refunds on syntax-forge.com. The license itself is on the Licensing page.
1. Operator identity
The website https://syntax-forge.com/ and the software distributed through it are operated by Syntax Forge, an independent software studio. Syntax Forge is the seller and handles order, license and refund issues. Order support and device reset requests use Support with the order ID. Support mail is not connected yet.
2. Checkout and who sells to you
Checkout opens a Stripe-hosted payment page; this website takes no card details. Syntax Forge is the seller of your order.
Stripe processes the payment only. Syntax Forge handles tax, invoices and refunds for the order.
3. Software license
Paid tools are licensed, not sold. The license is set out in full on the Licensing page, which forms part of these Terms. One named person, personal or commercial use, on up to two devices at a time, for the major version you bought, with minor and patch updates free. A license file is issued at purchase and verified offline; each machine records its own activation locally. The device allowance is a license term the offline check cannot enforce across machines. Moving to a new machine is a reset requested through Support with the order ID, not a repurchase. You may not redistribute, resell, rent, lend or sublicense the tool, share or publish your license key, remove its notices or order watermark, or use it to build a competing product. Breach ends the license; the 1.1.1 build cannot revoke a key offline. The license is not transferable except where the law requires otherwise, as described on that page.
Free and open-source tools are released under the license included in their source repository (such as MIT), which governs how they may be used, copied, modified and redistributed.
4. 14-day refund policy & EU/UK right of withdrawal
We offer a straightforward 14-day refund policy on all paid desktop applications and command-line utilities:
- If a paid tool fails to run on a supported operating system and hardware configuration listed on its product page and the issue cannot be resolved within 14 calendar days of purchase, you get a full refund. Syntax Forge is responsible for refunds. Order support uses Support; support mail is not connected yet.
- A refund ends the license for that order. A reset or refund reissues the license rather than revoking its key; the old one is no longer licensed. The 1.1.1 build cannot revoke a key offline, as described on the Licensing page.
- EU/UK statutory withdrawal notice: Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU Article 16(m)) and UK Consumer Contracts Regulations, consumers purchasing digital downloads consent at checkout to immediate delivery of the binary download and license key, while retaining our 14-day compatibility refund guarantee above.
5. Disclaimer of warranty & limitation of liability
Except as expressly required by applicable consumer law or our 14-day refund policy, all Syntax Forge software is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. In no event shall Syntax Forge be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages exceeding the amount you paid for the software.

All third-party product names, logos, and trademarks mentioned on this website or in documentation are the property of their respective owners.
